Dramatic footage shows a man under the influence of drugs performing drift stunts on a busy Chinese road.

The incident took place in Foshan, southern China’s Guangdong province on January 28, reports the People’s Daily Online.

According to reports, police fired warning shots and forced the man onto the ground before he was arrested.

In the footage, the vehicle can be seen drifting through the streets as people watch on.

Other cars are forced to stop and swerve out of the way.

A police car can be seen looking on before another police vehicle joins it and unsuccessfully tries to block the man’s car from moving.

It then continues to drift around the police vehicles.

Two warning shots can be heard being fired at the car.

The vehicle is eventually stopped and the man is dragged out of his car.

He is then pinned down and has his legs tied together as police try to restrain him.

The man is then carried away by a police vehicle. He was heard by onlookers shouting ‘you betrayed me.’

Police told reporters that they had conducted a urine sample and confirmed that the man was under the influence of drugs.

He was detained for 15 days and then sent to a drug rehabilitation centre for two years.
