Chuck E. Cheese is an American restaurant chain that especially caters for children as their slogan “where a kid can be a kid” unmistakably suggests.
However this video, allegedly shot on a mobile camera by one of the visitors at Chuck E. Cheese’s at the Kendall Village Center, South Florida on Sunday, shows the exact opposite of a children-friendly venue.
Women can be seen tearing at each-other’s hair and men sending punches at one another as more and more adults join the violent mash-up.
“I work at a Chuck E. Cheese not far from where this happened. I work at the one in Cutler Bay FL and this happened in Kendall. What caused the fight was that there were two parties and one of them was being ghetto and the other party started giving them hard looks. After they confronted each other things got out of hand,” YouTube user, Brito TheAnimal, reacted to the video of the fight.
In a Monday statement, a Chuck E. Cheese’s spokesperson said the chaos erupted when “an argument between two guests escalated into a physical altercation,” WSVN 7News reported. The restaurant reportedly added that the store manager acted quickly and local police were contacted and arrived immediately.
This February after a similar case the restaurant apologized:
“We are sorry this happened. We are usually a place for food and fun and family and we work hard to provide a positive, wholesome atmosphere for guests,” Chuck E. Cheese’s said in an official statement following a mass brawl in Manchester, Connecticut where two children were knocked over by fighting adults.
But by autumn they were back in the headlines when a police officer in Oak Lawn, Illinois, was assaulted while responding to a domestic disturbance at Chuck E. Cheese’s this September. And that particular joint has called the police over 50 times in 2016 due to adults fighting, WBEZ News Chicago reports.
