Sgt. Mary Kaye Lucas says the driver of a passenger car went down the off-ramp of I-15 near 600 South in Salt Lake City and began traveling south in the northbound lanes. Several attempts to stop the car were unsuccessful as troopers tried to get the driver’s attention.
Approximately 13 miles from where he got on the highway, a trooper successfully performed the Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) near 11400 South on I-15 and the car spun to a stop.
The video shows troopers surrounding the car at gun point and ordering the driver out. Sgt. Lucas says that driver was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.
